Day 4 - Rooftop Hopping

June 25, 2023: So we have decided that we love the rooftop restaurants in Florence! Tonight we hit our second, Angel Roofbar & Dining on top of the Hotel Calimala. We watched the sunset while enjoying an amazing meal. Our waiter was great and the whole experience…food, ambience, etc. was perfecto! Tomorrow night we’ll visit another rooftop bar called “Loggio Roof Bar”. It is on the Oltrarno side of the Arno River close to where we are staying.

We are really glad we planned to ease into our itinerary here in Florence by having some unplanned days to explore the city. Jimm has a photographic memory, so after he has been somewhere once and can picture it in his mind, he can get there again. So on Day 4, we feel like we know our way around really well. We ventured down some side streets again and found a little cafe called “Rooster Cafe Firenze”, a little cafe where locals come to work remotely and enjoy a coffee or apertivo. We also coudn’t help but stop back at the Wine Window for another refreshing spritz.

On our way home from dinner, we stopped at another new gelato place called Venchi Cioccolato Gelato. The gelato was so creamy and delicious! Florence is an extremely walkable city. We have not had to get an Uber or taxi to anywhere we needed to go. We will take a train next week to a few other cities, but if you are just exploring Florence, it is so easy to walk to any destination if you book a stay at somewhere central.

This week our itinerary heats up as we have a number of tours planned. Stay tuned as we share more of our experiences in the beautiful country of Italy!!
