Day 48 - Cozy Cabin Time

August 8, 2023: Today we made the trek from Fredrikstad to Aremark to stay at Eva and Per’s cozy cabin in the woods. Aremark is a municipality in the province of Østfold in Eastern Norway. It borders Sweden in the east.

Knut and Marit drove us and it was our last day to spend with with them during this trip. We had a nice lunch both couples. Eva and Knut are the children of my grandfather’s youngest brother who he never met because he left Norway before he his brother was born and he was never able to return.

After Knut and Marit left, we spent time catching up with Eva and Per while enjoying a nice bottle of red wine. Then we had wonderful dinner of paella with chicken, shrimp, sausages and muscles, compliments of chef Per 🤤 !!

I love these easy going days with family as much as the busy sight seeing days. This trip has been filled with both experiences. Only one week left of our trip and we will back to the U.S. and our home in Florida.
