Day 52 - Oslo

August 12, 2023: Saturday was a “No Stress” day. We started by repacking our bags and checking out of our hotel. Then we headed out for breakfast at a local coffee shop. Later today will be staying at another of my cousin’s houses in Oslo, Jon’s brother Hans Christian. It will be our final stop on our Oslo tour. Tomorrow we head to Iceland. We dropped out bags with the concierge and did some more walking around until we found the place in the photos above called No Stress. It is an eclectic/retro bar and restaurant whose motto says “We think no one should have to drink crappy cocktails, and that a great local bar is fundamental to human happiness.” There are several locations, the first No Stress opened in Bergen about 10 years ago after a group of friends had traveled the world for their dream bar. They didn’t find it, so they had to create it. They have a cocktail laboratory where their nerdiest bartenders (they call them labtenders) come up with amazing cocktails. They also serve coffee since Norwegians are obsessed with coffee 😂. They have both retro video games and regular board games to play, couches or tables and just an overall fun vibe. Jon stopped in to meet us at for a coffee before heading to the last day of Øyafestivalen. Then we had to say our final goodbyes.

Later in the afternoon, Hans Christian picked us up and we spent a wonderful evening having dinner (chili con carne) with him and his family. We talked late into the evening drinking wine and talking about travel and Norway. For the first time I forgot to take pictures 😕.
