Night Swim with Manta Rays - Day 15
Monday we decided to head down to the Hilton Waikoloa Village by the ocean and spent the day there. The pools there are absolutely beautiful. We spend the afternoon lounging in the sun, floating in the pool, and enjoying the waterslide. The temperature was perfect. Then we headed to Ola Brew Co. for an early dinner before heading to Fair Wind Cruises to prep for our night swim with the Manta Rays. I highly recommend this outfit. They were very professional and the staff was fun. I felt very safe, even for someone who does not swim well. After getting our temperature checked and grabbing our gear, we headed to our snorkel spot. Everyone put on their masks and flippers and headed into the water to a long strip of floating grips with lights attached. The manta rays were already swimming around when we got there. Check out the photo and videos page for Big Island to see some of the amazing footage Jimm was able to capture with our GoPro camera. We got done about 8:30pm and headed back to the dock. Swimming with manta rays is crazy cool! They swim right up to you and rub against you in the water. They are constantly doing loops. It was so much fun to see these amazing marine species up close and personal. I would definitely recommend it and would do it again.
