Day 25 was moving day to our last hotel of the trip, The Prince Waikiki in Honolulu. We chose this hotel as the final honeymoon gift for Matt and Julie and we are so happy we did. The view from our suite is spectacular and the staff has already made it special by bringing a bottle of champagne for them when they heard they were on a belated honeymoon trip. We started the day at the Pearl Harbor Memorial. I was the only one who had been there before, so we spend quite a bit of time visiting the actual site as well as the museums and exhibits nearby. It is always a solemn occasion to stand over the USS Arizona where so many are entombed who lost their lives on December 7, 1941. That day had so many long lasting impacts on the state of Hawaii. We also visited the USS Missouri where Japan officially surrendered and were able to tour a good portion of the ship. I will be compiling a video from the day that I will post in a few days for those who have not had a chance to see these two great memorials. On the way to the hotel, we stopped at Nico’s Pier 38 for lunch. It was o.k., but I would not give a glowing recommendation, the others may disagree. Then it was on to the The Prince Waikiki. They have a room top pool and bar on the 5th floor, so after getting our luggage delivered to the room we quickly changed into swimsuits and headed to pool. We watched the sunset from there until the wind picked up and it started to rain. We spent the rest of the evening playing Sequence and eating take-out from from Marakume Udon, masters of handmade udon noodles. It was yummy!! Another great day in Hawaii with the Matt and Julie. We are really enjoying this special time with them.

Aloha! Deb
