Another fun and active day in Hawaii! We started with a walk to The Beach House to take another look at the beautiful view there in the daylight. Jimm saw some people snorkeling so we will be heading back there with our masks before the end of the week to check it out. Then we walked up to our Starbucks and sat out side and played another round of 5 Crowns. We had to get our COVID tests for our flight to the Big Island, which needed to be done at the a clinic on the east side of the island, so we decided to do a road trip to Princeville in the north. We stopped at “Taps and Hops”, a new eatery that serves Kauai Crafted Beers and Local Food. I had their pork quesadillas and edamame, Joe and Cheryl had their beef sliders and fried and Jimm had their pork belly bao and fries. Jimm said the bao reminded him of the Disney Pixar short film called “BAO”. Another great restaurant find that we would definitely recommend if you are in the area. We drove the rest of the way to Princeville only to find out that we could not access the beach area that Joe and Cheryl had wanted to revisit because of construction, but it was a nice drive none the less. On the way back to the condo we stopped at Sam’s Ocean View Restaurant & Bar in Kapaa for a couple drinks (where picture above was taken) and then stopped at Wailua Shave Ice to sample the much talked about Hawaiian shave ice. We sampled the Lava Flow, Love Potion #9 and Pina Coloda. All we can say is “YUM!!” I will be definitely trying more shave ice on the Big Island and with Matt and Julie in Oahu. The rest of the day was just relaxing at the condo and then watching the sunset by the ocean across the street. Good news is that our COVID tests were negative again so we are all set for our trip to Big Island on Sunday! That was our final test as we don’t need another one to go to Oahu.

Aloha everyone! Thanks for following us, Deb
