Kauai Bound - Day 7
Today was our transition day from Maui Island to Kauai Island. Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to The Fish Condo and our turtles, but we were excited to check out our new condo in Poipu. We headed out to the airport early after a quick stop at Starbucks for our lattes (always a must when on vacation). The flight was short and uneventful. No problem getting through the screening process and picking up our rental car. We stopped at Mexican Restaurant called Mariachi’s where Jimm and I had eaten on our last trip to Kauai in 2019. The food was great the second time around and hit the spot. Especially loved their queso! We made a quick stop at the ABC Store for a few items to get us through until Monday and then headed to the condo. We are on the 3rd floor and the elevator was out, so we had to lug our overweight bags up three flights of stairs. Jimm and I vowed next time we will travel lighter. The condo definitely did not disappoint! Poipu Kapili #27 is our unit and is part of The Parrish Collection of resorts. It is a 1,800 square foot penthouse with panoramic ocean and pool views (see above and more pictures on the Itineraries and Photos page). It has a classic Hawaii plantation style architecture and design with amazing landscaping. Simply beautiful. After quickly unpacking we headed straight to the pool which was the perfect temperature for an afternoon dip. After relaxing for a while, we headed out to grab some dinner and ended up a Thai Food Truck and all ordered Pad Thai for dinner. We capped off the evening with a few rounds of “GoLo”, a fun dice game for golfers. We are looking forward to another great week of adventures. Tomorrow we will view the Napali Coast via helicopter. I hope you are all enjoying following us on this journey. It has been a fun project for me!
