Swimming with Turtles - Day 4
Day 4 was a much more relaxing day. I think it is so important when on a trip that you mix in down days with the more exciting adventure days. Started with a nice 1.5 mile walk to Duke’s Beach House for breakfast. Their Beach Boy Burrito was delicious! After the walk back, we spent the afternoon relaxing at the condo soaking up the sun. After paying for an excursion to snorkel with Turtles on Tuesday and seeing NO turtles, who knew that Jimm would be able to swim with turtles right here at our condo!! Click here to see some great footage he was able to get with our GoPro Hero 8 (which I highly recommend!). Later in the day we walked to Maui Brewing Company so Jimm could have some local brew. I was able to get a margarita, which I greatly appreciated. I love when breweries have options available for “non-beer” drinkers. I’d like to say the rest of the evening was relaxing, but we spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out whether or not we need another negative COVID test before our flight to Kauai on Sunday. There is so much conflicting information on the all the sites. I finally sent a text to Hawaiian Airlines and called Delta Airlines. Even the airlines conflicted in their responses. Delta said no, Hawaiian Airlines said yes. So tomorrow morning, we will be heading to Walgreens (45 minutes away) to get another test. I am thankful that we are able to travel during this crazy time to celebrate my retirement, but will be very glad when we finally get enough people vaccinated and reach herd immunity. As our site name indicates, Jimm and I live to “rove”, so the sooner we can get back to being open around the world and eliminated this terrible virus, the better. Stay safe out there.
